What this costs
We are in pilot, and we have not set a price yet. Rather than invent one, here is the shape of the answer — which is decided, and will not change when the number is.
The open core is free
The engine is Apache-2.0. Ingestion, the USALI mapping, the operating statement, labor cost, scheduling and the time clock are open source, and you can run the whole thing on your own hardware forever without paying us anything.
The hosted product is what you pay for
If you would rather not run a database, apply migrations, or manage identity, we run it for you — with backups, upgrades, and support. That is the paid product.
Pricing lands at general availability
Pilot properties help us work out what a fair basis actually is. When we publish a number, pilot participants will know well before it applies to them.
The question behind the question is usually whether you will be squeezed once you depend on this. The license is the answer: the core is open, so leaving is always possible, and that constrains us more than any promise would.
